Yeah..it's our first trip to Genting..
I went back to KL a few days before the trip on Friday so that I can have some time to accompany my gong gong and po po.
Last October,
there's some problems with my gong gong's colon.
He fainted and fell to the ground due to massive blood loss through his anus.
That's when his back pain started.
In November,
after his colon was cured,
there's infection in his lungs and he's admitted into this stupid HUKM for a few weeks.
Yes,
they cured the infection
but he was bedridden since then due to muscles degeneration.
I know it's not their fault to cause the muscles degeneration
but I'm terribly disappointed by how they take it easy when prescribing the medicines.
My gong gong need to take a whole big bunch of medicines everyday.
It makes me feel sick by just simply looking at those medicines.
In January,
his stomach got upset due to the medicines.
He can't even have a proper meal for the whole month
as he's vomitting everything he eats and drinks including plain water.
Even after he vomitted everything out,
he still feels like vomitting but there's nothing else for him to vomit.
It's terrible.
No proper meal, no nutrition to be absorbed,
how can a person live??
My po po should have sent him to the hospital earlier
but he's an extremely stubborn man.
He didn't want to be admitted as CNY is around the corner.
He wanted to wait for everyone to come back and celebrate the new year together.
That time,
my family reached KL at midnight so everyone was asleep.
Early the next morning,
I heard some unclear screamings from downstairs.
I thought maybe it was my uncle or aunt shouting to her children or something else.
I continue lying on my bed although I sensed something wrong.
After a few seconds,
my aunt came upstairs and asked my mom to go downstairs.
Due to curiosity, I followed.
It was my gong gong.
He lost his consciousness for some time after trying hard to pass motion.
He freaked everybody out.
My po po suspected that maybe his blood sugar level is low as he hasn't been eating properly
so she fed him some sugar.
Then, he regained consciousness. Phew!
But he was still suffering.
I went to his bed side to let him see me.
And also for me to see him clearly.
I felt sudden pain in my heart.
So thin! So skinny!
It's like he's only left with bones and skin.
The skin looks as if they're going to tear anytime
and the bones look as if they're going to be exposed from the skin anytime.
He smiled when he saw me and then tried very hard to reach for something under his pillow.
He took out some angpao and asked me to check whether there's any money inside.
I almost burst into tears!
Despite his pain and suffering,
he still thinks of giving us angpao!
He said,
"Kay, this should be my last time of giving angpao to u all..."
I quickly said,
"CHOI !!! Don't simply say those kind of things lar..aiyer!"
He also gave me my dad's n sibling's angpao and asked me to pass to them as they're still sleeping.
I refused and asked him to give them on his own later.
But he kept insisting on it.
"Take it take it..."
So I gave in.
"Ok lo..."
After CNY,
he finally went to the hospital.
The doctor gives him new sets of medicines.
Walao eh..
I know you're undergoing housemanship
but if you're not sure go ask your senior la..
Don't play with people's lives.
You got your medical degree to save or kill?
NO sense of responsibility at all.
He got better after that.
Can eat rice,fish and vege.
Glad to hear that =)
However,
this time when I came bac,
his conditions worsen,
he's suffering from terrible back pain.
On thursday evening,
he has been screaming in pain for some few hours continuously.
Suffering for the whole day and can't sleep for the whole night.
Me and my po po kept persuading him to go to the hospital
but he stubbornly refused
as my aunts and uncles will be coming bac from s'pore
for a wedding dinner on sunday.
He doesn't want to spend his time there when everybody is at home.
He finally gave in when the pain is totally unbearable.
We sent him to the hospital around 4am on friday morning.
He was placed in the emergency unit
and he was given a few doses of morphine
subsequently after a few hours
as they cant stop the pain.
I thought only the housemen there are useless,
never thought that their specialists are equally the same!
Those in charge in the emergency unit said that
we need to wait for the bone specialist to examine my gong gong.
So yeah, we waited..
from 4.30am to 10.30am.
6 hours!
Only then we saw that shitty specialist face.
He asked about my gong gong's history
and when he found out that
my gong gong hasn''t been passing motion for the past 4 days,
he said that's the reason causing the back pain.
I find it totally ridiculous!
He asked the houseman to arrange for a stomach xray
and refer to the stomach specialist.
He said he'll ask his other colleague to follow the case.
And he just left like that!
WTF!
The results of the xray?
Of course there's nothing wrong with it!
F***
So call specialist!
Useless after studying for so many years!
Can you imagine how it feels like to be in terrible pain for 6 hours
but nothing can be done?
I can't do anything too,
just accompany my gong gong while he suffers there.
I'm supposed to meet dear at 9am.
My gong gong kept asking why haven't I go to genting.
I said I won't go when he's in that condition.
So dear came to meet me in the hospital.
He waited there with me.
Around 11.30am,
my gong gong fell asleep unexpectedly.
Maybe it's because too much of drugs
or he got exhausted after all the screaming.
When he woke up,
he said that the pain has lessen.
We were relieved.
The doctors said his condition is more stable
and he can be admitted to the normal ward.
He still kept asking me not to worry about him
and just go to genting.
So I went back to pack my things.
Took lrt to asia jaya with dear.
Had mixed rice for lunch at his usual place.
It feels good to experience his daily routine =)
Took a bus at 1Utama to genting.
Meet Jx and Vicky at Skyway.
1st time cable car @.@
Check in.
Watched late night movie John Carter 3D =)
Unfortunately, I had flu for the whole night =(
Next morning, I received the biggest shocking news ever.
My gong gong passed away...
WTF?!
It's hard to believe.
He got better yesterday!
For the 1st few minutes after I heard the news,
I don't know what to do.
Then, I started crying madly.
Rushed back to KL with baobei,
leaving my friends there.
Sorry.
Busy with his funeral for the next few days.
Thanks to those who came and pay your last respect to him.
I ♥ you, gong gong.
You'll stay in my mind forever.
I won't forget the memories during childhood when I stayed with you.
Out of sight but not out of mind!
R.I.P.
